Our Story
Over the past several decades, after establishing their community centers, schools, and mosques, American Muslims came to realize their significance in the political process in their country, and the importance of being involved in it on all levels, local and national.
While being the most diverse minority in the US, American Muslims in general hold conservative values when it comes to many aspects of the social and family lives. But over the past few years, driven by political activism, they found themselves pushed away for these values, misrepresented in the political arena, creating confusion among themselves, and among those who watch the dynamics of their political involvement. Several groups and people tried to warn from this extreme shifting and deviation from their values and principles, but the deaf ears ended up making those critics take an over reactionary approach, only to be on the extreme opposite. This created a vacuum in the middle, and a need for internal voices and advocates who are willing to promote their faith values and how they relate to laws, legislations, bills, and propositions. And that’s what Yameen USA is trying to deliver.
Our Purpose
Mission: Promoting conservative and family values, and a guidance for the involvement of American Muslims in the political process.
Vision: To be the main voice of promoting Islamic values in American politics, and establishing standards for American Muslims to refer to when voting and supporting candidates.
The Balance
Choosing between supporting human and civil rights on one side, and family values on the other side, should not be the only choice. At Yameen USA, we strongly believe that we can create a a balanced and acceptable approach to handle this delicate conflict without compromising our faith values. Hence, we will strive to reach this balance in every way possible.
